Commissioning of unit D – new excitation systems for HPP Zakučac, Croatia

Engineers from KONČAR – Electronics and Informatics commissioned final, fourth unit of new static excitation system type SEB 11EK with excitation and braking transformer, for the generator D (160 MVA) on HPP Zakučac in Croatia.
The 4×160 MVA HPP Zakučac is a large hydro power plant in Croatian power generation utility.
Excitation system is implemented in the dual-channel version with bridges in 1 + 1 configuration together with possibility of electrical braking through braking transformer.
